Hydraulic Modeling
Newton Consultants has extensive experience in analytical and numerical modeling to evaluate ground water flow and quality. Modeling is used to analyze existing hydrogeologic conditions, assess and project processes in place such as chemical fate and transport and natural attenuation, and predict impacts of engineered interventions such as de-watering yield and drawdown and remedial design.

Specific studies have included:

  • Definition of Existing flow patterns, and Water Balance.
  • Characterizing fate and Transport and Attenuation Processes.
  • Projection of Chemical Migration and Attenuation in space and time.
  • Evaluation of Remedial alternatives.
  • Analysis of Hydrologic testing.
  • Prediction of ground water inflow to mines.
  • Mining impacts on local groundwater conditions.
  • Design of mine overburden de-watering systems.
